A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to nonexistent email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss messages because the other party has an outdated address or has made a typographical error. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited bulk email messages, but this issue can be fixed by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also vital to bear in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

If you host a domain on our cloud platform and you have a web hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section includes quite a few functions, but it’s stunningly user-friendly, so setting up a catch-all mailbox takes only a single click. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be enumerated in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll just need to click the "Catch-all" button for the specific address. Our system will inform you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or select another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as simple and requires one more mouse click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server package that we offer will permit you to set up a catch-all mailbox without any difficulties even in case you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All you need to do to achieve that is click on the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each email address that you have created using your domain names in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will notify you if you’ve already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding activated. In case you decide that you don’t need the feature anymore, you can disable it by clicking again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
